February 2004: Lake View opens to the public
In a sensational new venture, Jack Frost Tackle have created an exciting new resource for anglers, right in the heart of the south of England.
Jack Frost Director steve Mugridge says, "It has taken a great deal of hard work and tough negotiating over the past few months, but we have finally been successful in creating a fabulous venue for amateur and professional anglers alike."
Amazingly, although the facility is quiet and secluded, it is within a mile of the outskirts of Crawley, one of the most prosperous towns in the South. "It was important to us," says Steve, "that the facility should be accessible to keen fishermen and women from anywhere in the world. With Gatwick airport just down the road, the Channel port of Newhaven only an hour away and the M23 within a stone's throw, we expect to see visitors from thoughout the UK and abroad."
Just as important is the association with Jack Frost Tackle itself. "The shop is literally a five minute drive from the lake," says Steve. "We have more than 4,000 square feet of products on display, so it would be possible for someone to arrive with absolutely nothing and fishing with competition standard equipment within the hour."
Asked about his plans for the future, Steve is hugely optimistic.
"The facility at the moment gives us tremendous scope. This year, we will
be adding separate WCs and showers for men and women, and as soon as possible
we hope to bring in carp of around 40lb or more. We want Lake View to become
the venue of choice for all anglers in the South, so we will always have
some surprises in store!"
